Our story
Vagues was born in 2021 from the idea of Arianna Micarelli, who was always passioned about nature and craftsmanship. Although the concept of the brand was clear for some years, it was only at the beginning of 2024 that we decided to turn this vision into reality, officially launching the company. Vagues is not just a beachwear brand; it represents a deep bond between fashion and nature, celebrating Italian elegance and craftsmanship.
"I was born in Rome in February 1995 and spent part of my childhood in a small town near the capital. In 2000, my family decided to move to the open countryside, leaving behind the chaos of the growing town, and we settled in a more rural area. At the age of eight, I found myself immersed in the tranquility of the olive groves of Palombara Sabina, surrounded by farm animals. This new life in close contact with nature nurtured my love for the environment and simple things. Growing up in a serene and harmonious environment, I was supported and encouraged by my family to explore and develop my inclinations. After completing middle school, I enrolled in the Art High School with a focus on Advertising Graphics at the Angelo Frammartino Institute in Monterotondo. Determined to continue my journey in the world of art, I enrolled in the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, where I completed my studies and deepened various techniques related to art and craftsmanship. During the dark period of the Covid-19 pandemic, I did not let myself be discouraged and began to outline a well-defined artistic project, which would become the focus of my future career. With a creative and independent character, a deep love for nature and simple things, I felt the need to create a brand that reflected me. Thus, Vagues was born, a project to which I dedicated countless hours to perfecting every detail, from the paper model to the concrete realization of objects, intended for a niche of people who appreciate beauty and craftsmanship. Vagues represents my soul: a combination of elegance and simplicity, inspired by nature and genuine things. Every piece of the brand is handcrafted, with the intention of creating works that speak to those who love nature, seek the essence of simple things, and wish to express their authentic self through art.
